BOWIE, Md. – The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Bowie on Wednesday. The deceased driver is 70-year-old Winifred Y. Wilson of Bowie.
On November 25, 2020 at approximately 4:30 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Annapolis Road and Hillmeade Road for a collision involving two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed Wilson was traveling westbound on Annapolis Road attempting to make a left turn onto Hillmeade Road. Her car collided with a second vehicle that was heading eastbound on Annapolis Road. Wilson was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the second vehicle suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
