Calvert County’s rich tradition of agriculture dates back generations. Today, that heritage lives on in the county’s many working farms. Late summer and fall are great times to sample the farm fresh fruits, vegetables and more now gracing the popular local farmers markets and produce stands.

This time of year you can expect to find cabbage, beans, squash, corn, potatoes, honey, tomatoes, carrots, grapes, peaches, pears, cantaloupes, raspberries, plums and watermelon. September brings apples, beets, cider, gourds, sweet potatoes and pumpkins. Hungry yet?
