La Plata, MD – On Jan. 20 an overflow of raw wastewater was discovered off of Holly Tree Lane adjacent to the Holly Station community in Waldorf, releasing about 30,000 gallons of wastewater from a manhole into an adjacent stream bed and retention ponds.
The Charles County Department of Public Works stopped the overflow at about noon. Notices have been posted along the stream bed and residents are cautioned to avoid contact with the stream and connected retention ponds.
