GREAT MILLS, Md. — A man with four prior convictions related to controlled substances is facing fresh felony charges after deputies say they found suspected cocaine and distribution materials concealed in his underwear following a late-night traffic stop triggered by a cracked windshield.
Calverio Terrill Somerville, 36, of Lexington Park, was arrested on June 24, 2025, after St. Mary’s County Deputy Travis Wimberly conducted a stop near Great Mills Road. According to charging documents, the deputy observed a 2024 Nissan Rogue with a significant windshield crack obstructing the driver’s view. The vehicle failed to stop immediately, continuing past several well-lit areas before finally pulling into a gas station lot on Old Great Mills Road.
Wimberly recognized the driver as Somerville from prior investigations. After requesting the suspect step out of the vehicle, the deputy noted a suspicious bulge in Somerville’s groin area. A canine unit alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a probable cause search.
Inside the vehicle, deputies reported finding a rubber vial with white powder residue suspected to be cocaine, numerous loose baggies often used for packaging drugs, and a powered-on cell phone in the front seat. Further inspection revealed that the bulge observed earlier was a digital scale coated in white residue—also suspected to be cocaine.
During a physical search of Somerville, deputies allegedly found approximately 10 grams of white powder tied off in a clear plastic sandwich bag concealed beneath his private area. Authorities say this amount exceeds typical user possession and matches packaging found in the vehicle.
Somerville had $455 in mixed denominations on his person at the time of arrest, including $108 in his pocket and $347 in his wallet. Investigators also noted he was carrying two active cell phones, a common tactic used by drug distributors to coordinate sales.
Somerville is no stranger to such charges. Court records indicate four prior convictions in St. Mary’s County related to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, dated 2008, 2014, 2017, and 2022.
Somerville was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance not cannabis and felony possession with intent to distribute narcotics. He appeared before Judge James Tanavage on June 25, 2025, for a bond review hearing and was ordered held without bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2025, in St. Mary’s District Court.

Yet he does it over, and over and over again.
See the pattern?? It’s not just the criminal, it’s the crappy judicial system slapping his hand time and time again.
Never got a slap on the hand. Always go to jail. Unlike others
