HOLLYWOOD, Md. — Work crews will be repairing sections of pavement on Thomas Johnson Bridge (MD 4 over the Patuxent River) on Sept. 27. The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close one of two lanes and alternate traffic using a flagging operation between 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27.
This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain or strong, high winds. Travelers should allow extra time to make their way across the bridge. For the latest real-time travel information, log onto www.md511.org.
SHA asks for motorist’s patience during the flagging operation. Each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone! Citizens with questions can contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or shadistrict5@sha.state.md.us.
