Park Hall, MD— On Aug. 24, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Bowie responded to Point Lookout Road in Park Hall for the report of threats.ย
When Bowie arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim who advised the defendantย was severelyย intoxicated the previous night and threw a chair at him.ย
The defendant was identifiedย asย Margaret A. Williford, 51 of Lexingtonย Park. The victim and Williford live together, and have been in a relationship for the past five years.ย
The victim stated, “Williford, became jealous and irate because he was working on his daughter’s residence,” charging documents indicated.The victim also advised she was severelyย intoxicated and threw an ashtray at him, then she threw an office chair at him.ย
The ashtray did not hit the victimย but the chair did, leaving a bruise and swelling on his left knee. The victim advised Williford would not let him sleep even though she knewย he had to be at work in the morning.ย
While the victim was at work Williford called his cell phone at approximately 12:15 p.m., and left a voicemail stating, “she was going to burn this mother f***** down,” according to charging documents.ย
Williford was referring to the residence where the couple lived together. When Bowie responded to the residence he found multiple items tossed and broken outside the front door.ย
Williford was visiblyย intoxicated, so much so, she stated the victimย took her cell phone when in fact it was right in front of her. While Williford was trying to put her shoes on she had trouble standing. She also had trouble walking.ย
Williford was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where she was charged withย second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and arson/threat.ย
At this time Williford does not have a scheduled court appearance. Williford faces a maximumย sentence of 20 years and 2 months and/or $13,000.ย
