Single Vehicle Crash In Solomons Leaves One Injured, Medevac Requested

SOLOMONS, Md. — One person was injured Saturday morning after a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of South Solomons Island Road and Dowell Road in Solomons, prompting a medical helicopter response.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 11:48 a.m. on March 14, 2026, for a reported motor vehicle crash with injuries. Initial reports indicated the driver had exited the vehicle and was standing in the roadway median following the crash.

Upon arrival, first responders located a single vehicle that had left the roadway and come to rest in a grassy area near the intersection.

EMS evaluated those involved and determined the patient had injuries serious enough to require air transport. A medevac helicopter was requested, and the injured individual was flown to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with traffic control and the crash investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
