Waldorf, MDโ€”The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announce the signing of Outfielder Gary Brown.

Gary Brown was drafted as the 24th overall pick in the 2010 Amateur Draft by the San Francisco Giants. Brown was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 2007 draft directly out of high school, but he elected to attend California State University Fullerton.

Brown, 27, made his major league debut with the San Francisco Giants on September 3rd, 2014, after being called up from the minors the previous day. During his brief time in the majors, Brown recorded a .429 batting average. Brown was also part of the 2014 Giants Playoff Roster, playing one game in the NLDS against the Washington Nationals.

During his career, the Diamond Bar, California native has been a part of the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organizations. In his minor league career, Brown recorded a .334 on base percentage, with 51 home runs, 275 RBIs, and 81 stolen bases.
