CALIFORNIA, Md. — Special Olympics Maryland will host its annual Cycling Statewide Competition on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Oak Crest Properties in California, inviting residents from across Southern Maryland to come out and volunteer for the day.

The event brings together athletes from across the state to compete in multiple cycling divisions, celebrating sportsmanship, determination, and inclusion. Volunteers are essential to the success of the event, helping with everything from athlete check-in and timing to course support and awards.

“This is a great opportunity for the Southern Maryland community to get involved, support our athletes, and experience the incredible energy of Special Olympics firsthand,” organizers said.

All volunteers will receive a free volunteer t-shirt, complimentary lunch, and the satisfaction of making a difference — and students can also earn volunteer service hours for school participation.

Interested individuals can sign up online through the organization’s official volunteer portal: https://wkf.ms/4nf8JwI.
