St. Maryโs College of Maryland (SMCM) hadย two players selected to the All-Chesapeake region team as announcedย Thursdayย in a press release by the Intercollegiate Womenโs Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/US Lacrosseย D-III Committee. Midfielder Lauren Carrier was selected to the First Team for the Seahawks, whileย midfielder Allyson Sarigianisย was selected toย the Second Team for the Seahawks.
Carrier, a freshman from Crownsville, played in and started all 17 games for the Seahawks this season. She led the team in goals (43), total points (52), and caused turnovers (18). She was also second on the team in ground balls (46) and tied for third in game-winning goals (2). She was a Second Team All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) selection for the Seahawks this season.
Sarigianis, a senior from Bel Air,ย finishedย sixth on the team in scoring with 22 goals and nine assists forย 31 total points. She started and played in all 17 games for the Seahawks this season and led the team in ground balls (61) and was second in draw controls (35) and caused turnovers (17). This is Sarigianis’ second consecutive season receiving Second Team All-Regionalย honors
As a team, the Seahawksย finished their season with an overall recordย of 13-4. The team defeated Frostburg State in their season finale 13-11, on Saturday, May 6.
