SOLOMONS, Md. — Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks for a new exhibition called “Rhythm: Movement in Art.”
This exhibition examines how artists capture, interpret and evoke movement through visual rhythm, representatives for Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center wrote in an email to The BayNet. “From the fluidity of gestures to the pulse of repeated forms, and from the suggestion of physical motion to the sensation of energetic flow, this exhibit celebrates artworks that embody momentum, dynamic flow and cadence.”
Kinetic sculpture and other motion-based works are encouraged, especially those that physically manifest the exhibition’s themes of rhythm and movement. Judges will also consider 2-D and 3-D artwork and indoor and outdoor installations. The exhibition is open to all mediums and materials.
Additionally, all work must be completed within the last four years. Artists must be at least 18 years old and living and working in the United States or Canada.
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center features 30 acres of sculptures and native gardens, plus a “Fairy Lolly” playground, walking trails and an arts building that holds two galleries with rotating exhibits. The arts center also has gift shops and a Nature Nook.
Interested artists can submit their work online or learn more about the exhibition schedule.
