ย St. Leonard, MD – A Calvert County teenager who was killed Saturday evening, Feb. 4 after being struck by a motor vehicle in St. Leonard has been identified by police. Anthony G. Vidal, 15 of St. Leonard was flown to Childrenโs Hospital in Washington, DC where he died later that evening, the Maryland State Police (MSP) reported.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler that struck Vidal has also been identified by police. No charges have been filed against the driver, Dawn L. Venis, 37 of Prince Frederick. Venis was not injured in the collision.
According to a MSP press release, Venis was traveling on Flag Harbor Boulevard around 9 p.m. when she saw something in the roadway. She attempted to avoid striking the object, subsequently identified as Vidal but was unable to do so. Police said the preliminary investigation indicated the teen was either lying or kneeling in the roadway and was wearing dark clothing.
Investigators subsequently learned Vidal had been attending a party in the area and that the party allegedly involved the drinking of alcohol by attendees, which included minors.
The MSP press release stated that once the accident investigation is completed the case will be forwarded to the Calvert County States Attorneyโs Office. Witnesses to the collision or anyone with information regarding underage drinking in the area is asked to contact Tfc. Davis at the Prince Frederick Barrack at 410-535-1400.
Vidal was a sophomore at Calvert High School. He is survived by his parents, brother and grandmothers.

St. Leonard, MD – Police in Calvert County have confirmed that a 15-year-old county resident who was struck by a motor vehicle over the weekend has died. The incident occurred Saturday night in St. Leonard.
According to a spokesman at the Maryland State Police (MSP) Barrack in Prince Frederick, the male teenager was struck by a vehicle on Flag Harbor Boulevard at Calvert Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. The injured teen was flown to Children’s Hospital where he later died. The teenager, whose name has not been released, was a student at Calvert High School.
The incident remains under investigation by the MSP.ย
