Maritime Performance Series – Josh Goforth on April 18 (7 pm), located at Calvert Marine Museum, 14200 Solomons Island Road S, Solomons, MD – Enjoy an evening of Appalachian storytelling and music with multi-instrumentalist Josh Goforth. Spring Fling Market on April 19, 2025 (9 am to 2 pm), located at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, 13470 Dowell Road, Solomons, MD – Celebrate spring and fill your Easter basket with handmade, homemade, and homegrown treasures at the Spring Fling Market. Enjoy a festive day with featured food trucks like Blue Wind Gourmet and Buds n’ Beans, plus a pet-friendly atmosphere, rain or shine. Free admission.
Fossil Egg Hunt on April 19 (10 am to 12 pm), located at Calvert Marine Museum, 14200 Solomons Island Road S, Solomons, MD – Kids ages 3–10 can search for eggs containing real fossils and excavate their finds. Tickets required; pre-registration required.
HLOC Annual Easter Eggstravaganza on April 19 (12 to 2 pm), located at Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, 24801 Three Notch Rd, Hollywood, MD—The Hollywood-Leonardtown Optimist Club hosts this free Easter event for the first 150 children ages 12 and under. Enjoy egg painting, games, a visit with the Easter Bunny, raffles, giveaways, and snacks. Admission is free for kids 12 and under; food and bake sale items are available for purchase.
Intro to Laser Etching – Bay Inspired Décor on April 24 (6 to 7:30 pm), located at Twin Beaches Branch – Makerspace, 3819 Harbor Road, Chesapeake Beach, MD – Learn how to design and create artwork using the library’s laser etcher. Participants will leave with a custom Bay-inspired keepsake and certification to use the machine. Pre-registration and completion of online training required.

Science for Community Seminar – UMCES CBL on April 22 (7 to 8 pm), located at UMCES Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, 142 Williams Street, Solomons, MD – Join us as we celebrate a remarkable milestone, the 100th anniversary of CBL, the oldest state supported marine lab on the East Coast and the founding laboratory of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES). Blue Splash Water Safety Day on April 19 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), located at Lackey High School Indoor Pool, 3000 Chicamuxen Road, Indian Head, MD – Hosted by Charles County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism, this event raises awareness about water safety—especially for children and families of individuals with autism and other disabilities.
