HANOVER, Md. — Three suspects were arrested following a shooting, robbery and police pursuit that began at Arundel Mills Mall and ended with a crash and foot chase spanning multiple jurisdictions, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Officers responded around 5:00 p.m. on March 28, 2026, to the Burlington Coat Factory at Arundel Mills Mall for a report of shots fired.
Investigators say an adult male victim was leaving the store’s vestibule when several suspects approached and assaulted him. During the altercation, the victim attempted to draw a handgun, and a struggle ensued. The firearm discharged during the struggle, striking one of the suspects.
The suspects then fled the mall, taking the victim’s handgun and cell phone. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Using the department’s Real Time Information Center along with mall security, officers identified the suspects and their vehicle, a black Nissan Altima. Patrol officers and the Aviation Unit located the vehicle in Glen Burnie, and a pursuit was authorized after the suspects fled onto northbound Interstate 97 into Baltimore County.
The vehicle later exited onto Interstate 695, where it crashed. All three occupants fled on foot but were tracked by aviation units. Officers from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Baltimore City took all three suspects into custody.
Two suspects were treated for non-life-threatening injuries from the crash, while a third was treated for the gunshot wound sustained during the initial altercation.
During the response, an Anne Arundel County police officer was injured in a separate crash and was treated and released from a hospital.
Police recovered the victim’s handgun in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot and located his cell phone in the area of Route 100 and Oakwood Road in Glen Burnie.
Arrested were Brandon Eric Edwards Jr., 21, of Severna Park; Daevone D’Andre Johnson, 24, of Glen Burnie; and Elijah Amontay Fisher, 20, of Glen Burnie.
Court records show Edwards, Johnson and Fisher are facing multiple charges, including robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft under $1,500. All three were ordered held without bond following initial hearings.
A preliminary hearing for Edwards is scheduled for April 29, 2026, in Anne Arundel District Court. Bond review hearings for the suspects were scheduled for March 30, 2026.
The investigation remains ongoing.
