
UPDATE – 1/3/2025 – Unsafe Lane Change Leads To Overturned Vehicles In Lexington Park; Police Seek Witnesses
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On Thursday, January 2, 2025, two individuals were airlifted to a trauma center following a severe motor vehicle collision on Three Notch Road near Corporate Drive.
Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 11:50 a.m. and arrived to find two vehicles overturned with multiple occupants trapped inside. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the individuals, transferring them to emergency medical personnel for initial treatment on the scene.

Due to the severity of their injuries, Maryland State Police helicopters, Trooper 2 and Trooper 7, were called to the scene and transported the patients to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for advanced care. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.
The collision has led to significant traffic disruptions, with the southbound lanes of Three Notch Road between Pegg Road and North Shangri La Drive expected to remain closed for several hours as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

UPDATE – 5:45 P.M. – Three Notch Road in the area of Pegg Road (southbound) is reopened.
