FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT

UPDATE – 10/23/2025 – Severn Woman, 75, Identified In Fatal Pedestrian Crash On Telegraph Road

SEVERN, Md. — A woman was struck and killed by an SUV Tuesday evening in Severn, police said, after she stepped into the roadway as traffic moved through the area.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2025, Anne Arundel County Police Western District officers and emergency personnel dispatched to northbound Telegraph Road at Denson Drive for a reported crash involving a pedestrian and a Ford Bronco.

Police said preliminary information indicates the Bronco was traveling north in the No. 2 lane when the pedestrian tried to cross eastbound from the median. The driver told officers he did not see the woman until she was directly in front of the vehicle. The SUV struck her and stopped nearby.

Fire personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. As of Tuesday, she had not been identified, and police said efforts to notify next of kin are underway.

The driver, a 45-year-old man from Glen Burnie operating a 2022 Ford Bronco, reported no injuries, according to police. The department’s Traffic Safety Crash Reconstruction Team responded and is handling the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573.
