
SOUTHERN MARYLAND — Donating blood is a critical and life-saving act that supports hospitals and patients in urgent need. Local blood drives, such as those in Southern Maryland, provide an excellent opportunity for residents to contribute to their community. The UM Charles Regional Medical Center and the American Red Cross are hosting several drives, offering donors the chance to make a difference.
Despite some locations reaching capacity around Southern Maryland, there are still several opportunities to donate:
- April 4, 2025: The Space, Waldorf
- April 5, 2025: Knights of Columbus, Leonardtown
- April 11, 2025: American Legion Post 255, Ridge
- April 12, 2025: St. Nicholas Lutheran Church, Huntingtown
- April 21, 2025: Waldorf Jaycees
- April 24, 2025: Friendship Community Baptist Church, Dunkirk
- April 24, 2025: Mt. Ennon Baptist Church, Clinton
- April 25, 2025: Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department
- April 26, 2025: Church of Jesus Christ LDS, White Plains
- April 28, 2025: La Plata United Methodist Church

How to Participate
Visit Red Cross Blood to check availability and make an appointment. Even if you’ve been turned away before, you might now be eligible under updated donation requirements.
Note: Walk-ins are not accepted. Donors must schedule an appointment online or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
