Updated Flag Lowering for Senator Byrd
This is to advise you that President Obama has issued a Proclamation stating that the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half staff from sunrise to sunset in memory of Senator Robert Byrd. The United States Flag and Maryland State Flag shall be flown at full staff on Independence Day (July 4) ONLY and return to half staff until the day of interment on July 6 from sunrise to sunset.
Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half staff immediately in memory of Senator Robert Byrd, who died June 28 after a long battle with illness at the age of 92.
The flags will remain at half staff until his internment.
