LANDOVER, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Landover earlier this month. The suspect is 33-year-old Aaron Zavier Jefferson of Upper Marlboro. He’s charged with the murder of 31-year-old Dequan Clinkscale of Capitol Heights.
On June 7, 2025, at approximately 4:40 am, officers responded to the 400 block of Warfield Drive for the report of an unresponsive man. Officers located the victim outside in a parking garage suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Jefferson as the suspect. The preliminary investigation revealed he shot the victim during an argument. They were known to each other.
Jefferson is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is currently in custody in Fairfax County pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
