WASHINGTON — A Waldorf man has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison after D.C. police found 35 illegal “Glock switches” in his SUV during a traffic stop in Anacostia.

Edward Devon Gadson, 27, was sentenced Nov. 19, 2025, in U.S. District Court to 21 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to unlawful transfer and possession of a machine gun and aiding and abetting, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta also ordered three years of supervised release.

The case stems from an Oct. 2, 2024, stop by Metropolitan Police Department officers in the 2300 block of Green Street SE. Around 5 p.m., officers pulled over a Dodge Durango with heavily tinted windows and found Gadson behind the wheel, according to court documents.

Police reported seeing a clear plastic bag on the rear passenger floorboard that appeared to contain firearm accessories. When officers removed and examined the bag, they discovered dozens of machine gun conversion devices — often called “switches” — that can turn a semiautomatic pistol into a fully automatic weapon.

Investigators later determined there were 35 of the devices, all believed to be 3D-printed, prosecutors said. The items were marked with images linked to an internet meme known as “Not ATF Guy.”

The investigation was handled by the Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Washington Field Division. Assistant U.S. Attorneys John D. Crabb and Thomas Strong prosecuted the case.
