LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Downtown Leonardtown was filled with fall spirit this month as scarecrows of every shape and size lined the streets for the town’s 7th Annual Scarecrow Stroll — and the results are in.
Hosted by the Leonardtown Business Association and sponsored by The County Times, the friendly competition ran throughout October, inviting residents and visitors to explore downtown and vote for their favorite creations made by local businesses, families and community groups.
This year marked BayNet’s first time entering the Scarecrow Stroll, and our very own scarecrow, “Scoop McStuffin,” was proud to be part of the fun. While he didn’t bring home a ribbon, Scoop spent the month greeting visitors, posing for photos and soaking up the community spirit that makes Leonardtown such a special place.
Here’s who took home the top prizes this year:

Friends of Garvey Senior Center
Gibson Steel & Powder Coating
Blue Scarab Tattoo
Best by a Leonardtown Business or Organization

The stroll once again brought out Leonardtown’s small-town charm, from classic hay-stuffed figures to detailed metal sculptures and clever business-themed displays. Organizers said community participation keeps growing each year as more families and businesses join in.
