On Aug. 24, St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office Duty Robert A. Russell responded to a California, home for the reported “burglary that just occurred”.
Deputy Russell’s investigation revealed that a female homeowner walked from one location in her home to another and found a white male, unknown to her, seated on her couch.
She ran outside and screamed for her husband who had the intruder leave the home. The Deputies responded and the couple was able to identify the suspect, James Bertram Higgs, 36 of Lusby, who was located walking along Maryland Route 4.
Higgs, who was intoxicated, was arrested and charged with Burglary.
