On Nov.23 at 04:02 a.m., a fire was reported at Ingersoll Place, Waldorf, Maryland state authorities reported.ย
The fire destroyed part of a two story family house resulting in $400,000 in structure damage and $50,000 in contents damage.ย
It took fortyย minutes to control this house fire, and fiftyย firefighters from four different volunteer fire departments. Which includes Hughesville, Waldorf, Princeย Frederick and Benedict Volunteer Fire Department.ย
According to state authoritiesย “The owner of the house woke up to the smell of smoke and discoveredย a fire along the front porch outside te home. She was able to gather her pets and escape without injury before calling 911 from a neighbor’s house.ย
According to the state authorities the preliminary cause of the fire ” was as a result of a pot situated on the front porch where discarded cigarette butts were left.”ย
