LANDOVER, Md. – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Landover late Thursday night. The victim is 30-year-old James Kibler of Landover. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On May 1, 2025, at approximately 11:10 pm, Landover Division III patrol officers heard the sound of gunshots and immediately began searching for a potential crime scene. Officers located the victim outside in the 8100 block of Allendale Drive suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital where he died a short time later.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
