CALVERT COUNTY, Md. – We are pleased to share that Calvert County Public Schools high school students from Huntingtown, Patuxent, Calvert, and Norther High Schools will compete in the 34th Annual Calvert County Envirothon on April 14, 2026, at King Landing’s Park from 8:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.

The Envirothon is an annual academic competition in which student teams demonstrate their knowledge of natural resource management across four subject areas: wildlife management, soil conservation, forestry management, and aquatic resources. Throughout the school year, students worked directly with environmental professionals over three days of field and classroom sessions to build expertise in each topic.

The winning team will advance to the Maryland State Envirothon, scheduled for June 10–11, 2026, at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md.

The event is sponsored by the Calvert County Soil Conservation Service, Calvert Forestry Board, Calvert County Natural Resource Division, Morgan State University Estuarine Research Center PEARL, American Chestnut Land Trust, and the Calvert County Public School System’s CHESPAX program.

Media outlets are encouraged to attend and are kindly asked to notify the CHESPAX office in advance if they plan to cover the event. For more information or to confirm attendance, please contact the CHESPAX office at (443) 550-8079
