
LEONARDTOWN, Md. – This Saturday, March 23, 2024, the St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks department will host the 41st Annual Easter Egg Festival at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds despite the incoming rain. Modifications have been made to continue with the tradition of an Easter Egg Hunt.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is open to the entire community. For a $5.00 fee, participating children will receive an egg hunt bag and Easter Egg Passport. As you visit each vendor, receive a stamp on your Easter Passport to receive an egg added to your bag. There will be hidden starred eggs throughout the festival. Find one and redeem for a special prize!
This year features over 30 vendors with live entertainment, free arts and crafts, face painting, and goods and services for sale by local area vendors. For your appetite, over 20 food vendors and food trucks to choose from offering everything from pizza to barbeque, tacos, ice cream and so much more!
And of course, there will be visits and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, Ms. Cottontail and Sunny the Squirrel staying dry in the event buildings.
Net proceeds from the Easter Egg Festival, along with the department’s annual golf tournament, are used to fund the Recreation & Parks Scholarship Program which provides qualified individual applicants the opportunity to participate in an activity at a 50% prorated amount of the registration fee.
