MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — A 90-year-old woman was flown to a trauma center after striking a telephone pole on Mechanicsville Road Tuesday afternoon.
The crash was reported shortly before 4:45 p.m. Oct. 21 in the 27800 block of Mechanicsville Road near the Moose Lodge. Fire and EMS crews established a landing zone in the Moose Lodge parking area for the Maryland State Police Aviation Command helicopter Trooper 7.
According to emergency personnel, the woman suffered a broken arm and a fractured wrist. Trooper 7 transported her to the UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
