PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Arts Council of Calvert County is proud to announce its 2026 scholarship program, awarding three scholarships to hardworking and creative Calvert County students who plan to pursue an arts-related degree in college.

Each year, the Arts Council invests in the next generation of artists by recognizing outstanding local students who demonstrate talent, dedication, and a commitment to furthering their education in the arts.

2026 Scholarship Opportunities

Mary Beth Harry Scholarship
Awarded in honor of Mary Beth Harry, this scholarship supports a qualified art student majoring or minoring in an arts or arts-related field of study. This scholarship celebrates both artistic achievement and dedication to academic growth in the arts.

Kocen Memorial Emerging Visual Art Scholarship
Established in memory of longtime Calvert County residents Joan and Elliot Kocen, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating Calvert County high school senior who intends to pursue a degree in visual arts in college. It honors the Kocens’ legacy of supporting creativity and community enrichment.

Kocen Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship
Also created in memory of Joan and Elliot Kocen, this scholarship is designated for a graduating Calvert County high school senior planning to pursue a degree in performing arts in college. The award recognizes excellence and promise in areas such as theater, dance, music, and related performing arts disciplines.

Eligible students must be Calvert County residents and demonstrate both artistic merit and educational intent in an arts-related field.

Application deadlines, eligibility requirements, and submission guidelines are available through the Arts Council of Calvert County website. Deadline to apply is March 6th, 2026.
