MARBURY, Md. — A bicyclist suffered severe head injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening along Pisgah Marbury Road in Marbury.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 6:56 p.m. on March 12, 2026, for reports of a bicyclist hit near the area of Pisgah Marbury Road and Toyer Place. Initial callers reported seeing a man lying near a guardrail but were unable to provide an exact location.

Additional callers later reported the injured bicyclist was underneath a guardrail near the intersection of Pisgah Marbury Road and Wheatleys Homestead.

Emergency medical personnel located the victim, identified as a 30-year-old male, conscious and breathing but going in and out of consciousness. Responders reported the man had significant facial injuries and severe head trauma.

Due to the severity of the injuries, firefighters established a landing zone and requested a helicopter.

Maryland State Police Trooper 2 transported the patient to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
