INDIAN HEAD, Md. — Local leaders, state officials, and community partners gathered on May 13 to celebrate the grand opening of the Boys & Girls Club of Indian Head, Gordon Croft Clubhouse, marking a milestone expansion for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland.
Located at 1 N. Prospect Ave., the new facility will serve youth in the Indian Head area with after-school and summer programming designed to support academic, social, and physical development.

Mayor Brandon Paulin and Town Manager Ryan Hicks were recognized for their long-standing support of the project. The ribbon-cutting ceremony also included remarks from Maryland State Sen. Arthur Ellis, Secretary Paul Monteiro of the Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation, Commissioner Thomasina Coates of the Charles County Board of Commissioners, and representatives of the Gordon Croft Foundation, which helped fund the project.
“This new clubhouse is more than just a building—it’s a beacon of opportunity for the youth of Southern Maryland,” organizers shared. The clubhouse is named in honor of the Gordon Croft Foundation’s commitment to youth development in the region.
Joy Hill, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland, extended heartfelt thanks to local volunteers, law enforcement, clergy, and board members who helped ready the facility. Special recognition was given to Lt. Everette West and First Sgt. Mark Galgan of the Maryland State Police – La Plata Barrack, Pastor James Bell of House of Refuge COGIC, and board members Jason Henry, Steven Fontenot, and Kisha Flagg for their hands-on efforts in furnishing and preparing the new space.
