MARYLAND – Maryland’s transportation agencies are struggling financially which could lead to less maintenance and repair of roads across the state.
State transportation leaders met with the Prince George’s County Council to talk about funding. As of right now, more than $650 million has been cut from the budget in the coming years that is used for repairs and upkeep. In the meantime, crews will try to extend the life of the roads using lower-cost treatments.
One project that still has funding includes a new interchange at the Greenbelt Metro Station which will be the new headquarters for the FBI. Another that will have to wait is a $54 million construction project for a new interchange at the beltway and Medical Center Drive.

Must be part of Slo’ Joe’s infamous ‘Infrastructure Deal’.
Meanwhile, Gov. Spend Moore has run Maryland into a hole already. What about all the tax dollars from O’Malley’s great gasoline taxes and gambling, alcohol, tobacco and dope?
Maryland has robbed us of enough of our tax dollars! If they canโt fix roads then they better find out who pocketed the money!
Government is so corrupt itโs not even funny! All politicians are thieves
Maryland’s government is top heavy and needs to be reduced by 30%. Oh, and the funds would be there if you drones would stop electing dumb-o-crats!!!
Its no wonder many retirees are fleeing for other states that don’t tax you to death. I keep seeing approx.160 million in taxes from casinos each month. Where has all that money gone. More taxes and yet no improvements in schools, roads, emergency services, etc.
Amen where is all that gambling money going
Government is so crooked and fโd up
Vote RED remove every Democrap
Could just stop paying the lazy to be lazy. Cut the hell out of food stamps welfare and section 8.
What happened to the huge budget surplus we had when Hogan was Governor?
So the Demoncrats spent the whole $108 BILLION from the Infrastructure Bill on other follies instead of our infrastructure. Nothing new.
Wouldn’t be an issue if tax dollars were spent on things in the common interest, like roads.
Instead, out tax dollars get swung towards pet projects that get corrupt politicians reelected.
What happened to the huge budget surplus that we had when Hogan was in office?
Perfect example of corrupt government
All the money spent on ‘Green Energy’ to stop the climate from changing is a money laundering scheme. The climate will change regardless of what we do. The arctic has a new record for ice coverage and Alaska has record breaking cold. Quit throwing our tax dollars into the pig trough!
Tax and spend democrats. You get what you vote for.
I did not vote for Moore, and would not have considered him for lack of experience, but now you tell me the roads are going to get even worse, because of him? Time to clean out Baltimore’s harbor government next. Oh but wait, they destroyed the inner harbor, and all businesses left because of rampant crime.
Maryland is in the top 5 of the highest gas tax in the nation and it goes up every year, thanks to O’malley but yet there is no money to repair roads. Somebody please explain to me why this state has never met a tax it didn’t like.
The roads are terrible. I spent more money getting alignments or axle work done for these MARYLAND BAD ROADS.
After 36 years in Waldorf, in four years at Andrews Air Force Base, I moved to sunny Florida. No state income tax, and even my property tax was waived because of my military disability. They even waived my trash fee. COME ON DOWN
