MORGANZA, Md. — The Chopticon High School Band Boosters are inviting the community to enjoy breakfast and live music while supporting student musicians at an upcoming fundraiser next month.

The Chopticon High School Band will host a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon March 7, 2026, at the school. Guests can enjoy a pancake breakfast while listening to performances by the school’s Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band, along with student solos and small ensembles. Organizers say there may even be a few parents joining in on the music-making.

The event comes at a critical time for the program.

“With the recent cuts in the fine arts budget, we are trying all that we can do to get some money put back into the band programs,” organizer Cody Reck said.

Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door. Presale tickets are available through MySchoolBucks.

According to band representatives, proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly into the school band’s account. The funds will be used by the band director to purchase sheet music, repair instruments, obtain specialized instructional aids and provide other classroom materials to support the program.

Organizers say the breakfast not only serves as a fundraiser but also as an opportunity for the community to see firsthand the dedication and talent of Chopticon’s student musicians.

For more information, residents can visit the Chopticon High School Band Booster Facebook page or contact Reck via email at codyreck@gmail.com. Community members are encouraged to attend, enjoy breakfast and help sustain the school’s band program.
