House Fire In Prince Frederick

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Firefighters brought a working house fire under control Tuesday afternoon in Prince Frederick after battling heavy flames that spread through a single-family home.

The incident was dispatched around 12:58 p.m. on April 14, 2026, in the 1000 block of Clay Hammond Road. Initial reports indicated a two-story brick home with a basement, where the fire is believed to have originated in the garage before spreading into the house.

Crews arriving on scene encountered heavy fire showing, with flames extending through the attic, prompting an exterior-only attack due to the intensity of the blaze.

Mutual aid units, including firefighters from Anne Arundel County, St. Mary’s County, and Charles County, responded to assist as multiple fire and rescue crews operated on scene. SMECO and the Office of the State Fire Marshal were also requested to respond.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control at approximately 1:25 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
