Dangerous road to walk, especially at night there is no shoulder…
RIp Drail
Very very dangerous at night especially from brownies beach up the hill into town. There is no shoulder with the guard rails so close to the road on both sides. At night with the lights of oncoming traffic there is no margin for error. An accident waiting to happen.
Sounds like he wanted it to happen.
yea I feel sorry for the person driving the truck. I bet he hasn’t slept since
Why would u say that you must not have a heart. How would u feel if it was one of your family members!?!!!

Walking and bicycling on roads with no shoulder should be illegal, these types of incidents will continue to happen
Why would you say that would you want that to happen to your love one??
I don’t have loved ones that walk on roads with no shoulders, my loved ones have way more common sense than that
You never know when your love ones will have to walk roads with no shoulder. And by the way I knew Mr.Brooks and he probably had more sense than you!
I drove through that area and saw the investigation spray paint marking out the scene . From the top of the hill at the main entrance of the Naval lab to the incident scene is a straight shot clear view.. At 4:48 am it is still dark and would mean the driver of the truck would have his headlights on ….
If accurate and correct the statement that the pedestrian was walking north in the south bound lane in the middle of the south bound lane ..
This doesn’t jive .. how do you not see someone walking in the middle of your lane walking toward you …in the headlight of your truck …???
This just doesn’t jive ..
I’ve seen people walk on the opposite side of the road when they see on coming traffic , I cant image why the pedestrian didn’t more over to the north bound side
Issue : dead men can’t tell their side …
Yet again I recall an accident north of Beach drive, which is near this pedestrian accident ,a few years ago when a driver intentionally drove head on onto another vehicle in a suicide attempt …
To add ,55 some years ago a group of teens were speeding and hill hoping and were killed in almost the same spot this pedestrian was killed …
BTW : This comment has nothing to do with any of these three accidents ,
but I’ll say it…If your are riding a bicycle on 261 from Rolands to Breezy point road .. you are an idiot
