Firefighters Rescue Horses After Tree Falls On Barn In Chaptico

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Fire and emergency personnel responded to a call on May 6, 2024, at approximately 9:42 p.m., after a large tree fell on a horse barn at the 23000 block of John Walter Lane in Chaptico, trapping two horses inside.

Upon arrival, crews found the tree had compromised the structure of the barn, making it unsafe to simply remove the tree. Firefighters immediately worked to stabilize the tree and the walls of the barn to prevent further damage.
