BOWIE, Md. — A Bowie man and two additional suspects jailed in Howard County face armed robbery and theft charges tied to an October holdup at a Home Depot in Bowie and a series of store thefts in central Maryland.
Shortly after 6:30 a.m. Nov. 20, 2025, Bowie police officers, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Maryland State Police, served an arrest warrant for Michael Ball in the 3200 block of Scarlett Oak Terrace. The warrant stems from the Oct. 28 armed robbery at the Home Depot at 4121 Crain Highway.
At the time of his arrest, Ball had open warrants in five jurisdictions: the City of Bowie, Howard County, Montgomery County, Maryland State Police and Fairfax County, Va. In a separate Prince George’s County District Court case, he is charged with multiple theft counts between Sept. 2 and Oct. 22, including felony theft between $1,500 and $25,000, misdemeanor theft between $100 and $1,500, conspiracy theft and a felony theft scheme in the $1,500-to-$25,000 range. Ball is being held without bond, with a bail review set for Nov. 24 in Upper Marlboro.
Detectives identified two other suspects in the Home Depot robbery, Shanikquea Monique Long and Theron Douglas Kidd, who are being held at the Howard County Department of Corrections.
Howard County District Court records show Long is charged with felony theft of $1,500 to under $25,000, conspiracy theft in the same range, misdemeanor theft of $100 to under $1,500 and a felony theft scheme of $1,500 to under $25,000 for incidents between Sept. 8 and Oct. 8. She remains held without bond following a Nov. 10 bail review. A trial-for-officer scheduling hearing is set for Dec. 23.
Kidd faces five felony counts of theft of $1,500 to under $25,000, three misdemeanor conspiracy theft counts in that range and a felony theft scheme of $1,500 to under $25,000 linked to incidents between Aug. 19 and Oct. 8. He also was ordered held without bond at a Nov. 10 bail review, with the same Dec. 23 scheduling hearing date.
In the Bowie case, Ball, Long and Kidd are charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, theft, malicious destruction of property and conspiracy.

Congrats to law enforcement. Great investigation linking these to several jurisdictions. Now keep them caged where they belong.
