NORTH BEACH, Md. – The Ladies of Charity Calvert County Food Pantry will be hosting a special opening on Thursday, Nov 6 from 6 to 7pm for affected workers and families. Below is information about how their pantry works:
First Time at the Pantry; What to Expect:
Pulling up to the pantry for the first time can feel overwhelming, but our goal is to make your visit as welcoming and stress-free as possible. As a car pulls up at the pantry, a friendly greeter will approach and gently ask if you are new to the pantry. If this is your first visit, there’s no need to worry—our process is designed with compassion and dignity in mind.
The greeter will bring you an application on a clipboard along with a pen. The form is simple and straightforward, asking only for basic information such as your name, address, phone number, birth date, names and birth dates of all household members, median household income, and whether you receive any public assistance like SNAP or Medicaid. Importantly, we do not require you to show any identification; your honesty is all that’s needed.
Once you’ve completed the application, we’ll kindly ask you to pull forward out of line so we can enter your information into our database without holding up other cars. This step ensures that everything runs smoothly for everyone in line. After registration is complete and you’re in our system—which only takes a little while—you’ll be able to order food for yourself or your family.
After this initial visit and registration process, please know that you are welcome back once each calendar week whenever support is needed. We’re here for you every step of the way.”
Our Pantry House address is 8823 Dayton Avenue, North Beach, MD 20714
