MECHANICSVILLE, Md. โ€” Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a residential structure fire late Saturday night, August 9, 2025, and were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, containing it to the exterior of the home.

The call was dispatched at approximately 11:16 p.m. for a fire on the side of a house in the 30200 block of Suite Landing Road in Mechanicsville.

The first arriving units reported a two-story, wood-frame home with smoke showing from the side. A walk-around of the structure confirmed smoldering siding on the “Delta” (right) side of the house. Firefighters deployed a hose line and extinguished the exterior fire.

Crews entered the residence to check if the fire had spread inside the walls and found a light haze of smoke on both levels, but the primary fire was contained to the outside. A critical update from the scene confirmed that all occupants of the home were accounted for and were safe.
