PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. Optimal Health and Vitality celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 12 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Optimal is located at 132 Main Street, Suite A, in Prince Frederick and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Friday.

Optimal Health and Vitality is a medical clinic dedicated to supporting women in their perimenopause and menopause journeys. Founded in 2024 by Kimberly Bysheim, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC, MSCP, Optimal Health and Vitality was created to empower women through compassionate, personalized and proactive care. Its website says the clinic staff “believe these years should be vibrant, healthy and fulfilling. We partner with our patients to navigate hormonal changes, improve quality of life and support lasting vitality.”

The clinic offers hormone replacement therapy, nonhormonal therapy and health coaching and optimization services. Initial consultations are $450 and follow-up appointments are $175. The clinic works with insurance for labs and prescriptions.

Those seeking menopause or perimenopause care typically do so through a gynecologist or primary care provider. Bysheim said she hopes to offer a supportive, integrative environment where she takes a whole-picture approach, including hormones, fitness, nutrition, sleep and more.

“We’re focused on being comprehensive,” Bysheim said. “When we talk about perimenopause and menopause, we think of hormones, but it’s a lot more than that. It’s about how these hormones affect every system in our bodies. I ask patients what their goals are, and then we work systematically toward meeting those goals.”

Bysheim said she was inspired to start the clinic after her own experiences seeking care for perimenopause. She realized that providers lacked the training that would allow for options in care — and she wanted to provide those options. She said the comprehensive, personable, face-to-face approach is key, and she is excited to bring this option to the women of the community.
