
UPDATE: Motorcyclist Identified In Fatal Route 4 Crash After Fleeing Police
LOTHIAN, Md. — A motorcyclist was killed and a teenage passenger critically injured Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, after fleeing deputies in Calvert County and crashing into another vehicle on Route 4 near the Anne Arundel County line.
Deputies attempted to stop a sport bike in Dunkirk just before 8:00 p.m., but the rider sped away. The chase was called off minutes later when the motorcycle crossed into oncoming lanes.
Within moments, deputies came upon a serious two-vehicle collision in the southbound lanes of Route 4 near Talbot Road.
The male operator was pronounced dead at the scene. His teenage passenger was flown to a nearby trauma center with multiple fractures.
One person in the second vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
