Maryland State Police Trooper 2

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — A pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma center Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and St. Edwins Drive.

The incident occurred November 18, 2024, around 6 a.m., when fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene of the collision. The driver of the vehicle, who called 911, told authorities they did not see the pedestrian crossing the road.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found a woman, approximately 50 years old, who was alert but suffering from significant arm and leg injuries. Due to the severity of her condition, a Maryland State Police Trooper 2 helicopter was pre-launched for transport.

The woman was stabilized on the scene before being airlifted to MedStar Trauma Center for further treatment. The driver of the vehicle, who was uninjured, declined medical care.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
