LA PLATA, Md. – On December 6, 2024, at approximately 8:19 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on northbound Crain Highway in the area of Talbot Street.
Crews arrived and found a pedestrian deceased in the roadway that was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian will be released once a next of kin has been located.
Expect northbound road closures for the next few hours.
Police continue to investigate the incident. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Wife and I saw a pair around 6:15 by the Popeyes looking to cross 301 in the dark. One was a thin black woman in a pink jacket. Randomly crossing 301 in the dark is dumb and dangerous. At least go to the light.
