HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — A high-speed chase reaching over 100 mph ended in a dramatic takedown in Calvert County, leading to the arrest of 41-year-old Treasure Lee Muller of Glen Burnie and her passenger, 27-year-old Jaleal Terrence Balogun, of Brooklyn Park. Deputies say the pursuit, which began in the early hours of March 2, 2025, started with excessive speeding on Maryland Route 4 and escalated into a dangerous, multi-agency chase involving spike strips and a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver.
According to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy monitoring traffic with a stationary radar clocked a black Hyundai Tucson traveling at 82 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. As the deputy turned around to make a traffic stop, the vehicle reportedly accelerated to 90 mph, ignoring emergency lights and sirens.
The driver, later identified as Treasure Muller, allegedly continued to evade law enforcement, weaving between lanes on Route 4 and showing no signs of slowing down. Deputies stationed farther ahead deployed spike strips, successfully deflating the front tires. Even with compromised control, Muller attempted a U-turn in the area of Western Shores before a deputy performed a PIT maneuver, sending the Tucson spinning into a crossover lane before striking a patrol vehicle.
Once stopped, deputies initiated a felony traffic stop. Reports state that Muller attempted to accelerate again but was boxed in by patrol cars. With weapons drawn, deputies ordered Muller and her passenger, Jaleal Balogun, out of the vehicle. Both individuals were taken into custody after initially failing to comply with commands.
During a search of Muller, deputies allegedly found a two-inch brown bottle filled with a liquid substance resembling phencyclidine (PCP), a Schedule II drug. A $5 bill covered in white powder residue was also discovered in her possession. The passenger, Balogun, initially provided deputies with two false names before his identity was verified. A further search revealed that Balogun had concealed suspected crack cocaine inside his sock. At CalvertHealth Medical Center, deputies say additional drugs were recovered, including more suspected crack cocaine hidden in his right sock, heroin capsules stored in a glass vial, and additional substances found inside his underwear.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered multiple electronic devices and an assortment of drug paraphernalia. Among the items seized were several glass smoking pipes, a pink liquid substance in a brown bottle suspected to be methadone, and multiple plastic bags containing white powder residue. Investigators also recovered multiple buprenorphine (Suboxone) strips inside the vehicle’s center console.
Muller was transported via ambulance to a landing site, where she was flown to a trauma center for medical clearance before being booked into the Calvert County Detention Center. She faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession with intent to distribute PCP, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
Additional charges include possession with intent to distribute narcotics, also punishable by up to 20 years and a $15,000 fine, as well as multiple counts of drug possession, each carrying a potential sentence of five years and a $15,000 fine. Muller was also charged with possession of a CDS not cannabis, a misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, which could result in a $500 fine per count.
Balogun was charged with possession of crack cocaine, heroin, and providing false information to law enforcement. His charges also include possession with intent to distribute PCP, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and multiple counts of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession. If convicted, he faces similar penalties, including up to 20 years in prison for each felony drug distribution charge.
Both individuals remain in custody without bond following a bail review hearing presided over by Judge Robyn Riddle at the Calvert District Court.
A preliminary hearing for both defendants is scheduled for April 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. in Courtroom 1.

100 in a Hyundai Tucson is crazy.
Well this is bright ! While drugs in the car ,lets “speed “, bring attention to ourselves and give police a reason to pull them over . Drugs are for dopes and make you do really dumb things .. I doubt that knot on the head will knock an sense into her./him
Yea yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo!
It doesn’t look like the attempted alluding was worth it.
But, they’ve eluded work, paying taxes and all responsibility that builds character and natural non-drug happiness their entire lives. Why not police also? Just like how they will elude subsequent court dates after release.
She should have known not to come speeding through “Hazard “County” esp. not in the middle of the night.👍
And she said , “That was fun ” ! “When can we do it again ” !
They should be jailed for life. Why should we care about their lives if they are so willing to put the rest of us in danger by being dangerous with a vehicle?! Not to mention the drugs.
