HARWOOD, Md. — A three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in southern Anne Arundel County left one woman dead and two others injured, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The collision occurred around 7:20 a.m. on April 7, 2026, on Solomons Island Road (MD Route 2) south of Polling House Road in Harwood.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2021 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 19-year-old man from West River, was traveling northbound when it struck a 2010 Nissan Xterra from behind. The impact pushed the Nissan into the southbound lane, where it was struck head-on by a 2019 Toyota 4Runner.
The driver of the Nissan, Regina Ann Hicks, 54, of Prince Frederick, was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Dodge Challenger and the driver of the Toyota 4Runner, a 30-year-old woman from Chesapeake Beach, were both transported for treatment of minor injuries.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the crash.
