CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — The town of Chesapeake Beach will introduce and vote on at least two ordinances at the next Town Council meeting in March.
The next meeting will take place on March 19. During the meeting, the Town Council will introduce the following ordinances:
O-26-2, an ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of an aggregate principal amount not to exceed Five Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($5,900,000) of bonds of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, to be known as “Chesapeake Beach Infrastructure Bonds, 2026 Series A.” The purpose of this ordinance is to expand the use of these bonds, providing all or a portion of the funds necessary for financing the following projects: renovation, construction, improvement and appurtenances, necessary property rights and equipment, related site and utility improvements and other related activities to the town’s water park; funding a portion of a capital reserve fund and/or other reserves; and paying issuance and other costs related to the bonds.
The Chesapeake Beach Water Park is a major project that the town is hoping to complete in time for the 2027 season.
O-26-3, an ordinance of the Town Council of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, amending Town Code Chapter 110, “Building Construction,” to repeal Article I, “Fences,” and renumber the remaining articles. “Fences” outlines restrictions for residential fences in the town.
Public hearings for these ordinances will also be held in advance of the Town Council meeting. The public will be able to speak on the ordinances if they choose. The council will then vote to adopt or reject the ordinances.
