BALTIMORE – He’s a frequent player, a Prince George’s County man told lottery officials April 7 when in Baltimore to claim his latest win, a $50,015 score on Bonus Match 5. He enjoys all of the Lottery’s offerings though, for obvious reasons, Bonus Match 5 is now his favorite game.
“Over the course of a month I bet that I play every game that you have,” he said. “And I’ve been pretty lucky. Lots of wins.” The Bonus Match 5 top prize he won on April 3 is by far his biggest ever, he affirmed. This personal record-breaker got a $15 boost from a lower-tier win found on one of the other combinations on his ticket.
The retired police officer discovered his good fortune the morning after the drawing, utilizing his Maryland Lottery app.
“I check my numbers right away when I wake up,” he said. When asked for his reaction upon realizing his ticket matched all of the winning numbers, he said, “I remember thinking, ‘Wow. It finally happened.’”
The winning $4 Bonus Match 5 ticket was purchased from the Royal Farms at 100 Monument Avenue in Oxon Hill. The Prince County business receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
The winner said he was not really surprised by his $50,000 Lottery win: “I’ve always felt that something big would come my way. This counts.”Categories:Bonus Match 5, Winners Tags: Bonus Match 5, oxon hill
