CALIFORNIA, Md. — Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard will continue its annual First Day of Spring tradition by offering free Italian Ice to guests on Thursday, March 20. With more than 575 locations participating, the company expects to distribute approximately one million cups of its signature frozen treat.
Visitors to any Rita’s location that day can receive a free 6-ounce Italian Ice in the flavor of their choice, including classic options or the new SKITTLES® Italian Ice, inspired by the fruity flavors of the popular candy.
Rita’s is also introducing SKITTLES® POP’D freeze-dried candy as a new topping for a limited time. The crunchy, tangy topping can be added to any Rita’s treat for an extra burst of flavor. Both the SKITTLES® Italian Ice and SKITTLES® POP’D topping will be available starting March 17.
In addition to the free giveaway, Rita’s Ice app users will have the chance to win free Italian Ice for a year. Guests can enter by using promo code “FDOS25” under the “Offers” tab in the Rita’s app between now and March 23 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Thirty winners will be randomly selected to receive 52 free small Italian Ice rewards, valid for one year. Official sweepstakes rules can be found at www.ritasice.com/FDOSSweepstakes2025.
