HUGHESVILLE, Md. – The Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS® is seeking assistance from the community to successfully complete its 2024 Senior Santa Program.
The SMAR Senior Santa Program was created over 10 years ago to help brighten the holiday season for seniors living in nursing homes and senior care facilities across Southern Maryland. Most of the seniors supported through this program will not receive gifts, or even visitors, throughout the holiday season.
Over the past decade as the program continued to grow, so has the community’s generosity.
Just last year, SMAR collected gifts for over 500 seniors. Over the years, the SMAR Senior Santa Program has successfully collected and delivered over 7,000 gifts to Southern Maryland seniors.
This year will hopefully be no different! This year’s program goal has grown to almost 550 seniors from across 13 facilities, and SMAR is now asking the community for help in “adopting” all the seniors and collecting all the gifts!
All gifts must be delivered to the SMAR Office (8440 Old Leonardtown Road, Hughesville, MD 20637) by no later than December 16th at 9:00 a.m.
You can also deliver to one of our many other drop-off locations listed on our website by December 13th.
This ensures SMAR will be able to sort and deliver all gifts to their appropriate locations in time for the facility’s holiday gatherings.

Click on the facility name at the bottom of the page to view a list of recipients. Then click on their name to view their “wish list.”
The listed items are just suggestions. You are not expected to buy everything on the list. Whatever you choose to give will be greatly appreciated.
Make sure you add the person to your cart and complete the checkout process to complete the adoption!
GIFT WRAPPING INFORMATION:
- Gifts should be placed in gift bags (wrapped boxes may be too difficult to open) and labeled with: Facility Name; Gender; and number of the person who is to receive the gift. Clearly labeled gifts are very important to ensure your gifts reach the intended person.
**Very Important: Please ensure each gift has a tag of some sort affixed to the package, in such a manner that it will not fall off easily, and it’s numbered as shown in the example below. This is very important so that we can ensure the presents get to the intended recipients.**
