GREAT MILLS, Md. — A new indoor marketplace offering the feel of a traditional yard sale with the convenience of a permanent location has opened in St. Mary’s County with the launch of STACIES 516 Yard Sale Market at 21001 Great Mills Road.
Founded by Stacie Vanessa, a St. Mary’s County native, the indoor yard sale marketplace is designed to bring together community members, vendors and bargain hunters under one roof. The market reflects Vanessa’s commitment to creativity, resilience and building opportunities for local commerce.
Vanessa’s entrepreneurial journey began with Unique Designs, a wedding and party decorating business that served more than 25 clients over a five-year period. She later transitioned into reselling, first hosting yard sales that quickly became successful. That momentum led to the opening of Bakers Yard Sale Market in Charles County in 2025, which consistently sold out every Saturday.

As demand grew in St. Mary’s County, Vanessa rebranded and expanded her concept to create STACIES 516 Yard Sale Market following a brief dispute over the original business family name, BAKER’S Yard Sale Market. After refiling, she now has a unique name for her business that is special to her and even incorporated her grandmother’s birthday, 516 (May 16). Stacie stated, “This is a name no one can take from me.” The new brand represents her focus on persistence, patience and hard work. The business now operates two locations, one in Charles County and its newest in St. Mary’s County, offering vendors a space to sell a wide range of items at traditional yard sale prices.
During the interview with The BayNet, Stacie stated, “My passion and vision for the Lexington Park location is bringing high-quality items at real affordable prices.”
Stacie Vanessa is fully licensed to operate the St. Mary’s County indoor yard sale marketplace. The facility offers flexible vendor leasing options, including one-month, three-month, six-month and year-long leases. The market features three separate vendor rooms, with each vendor operating within a private room designed to showcase individual merchandise. She is currently accepting vendors for the marketplace.
In addition to hosting vendors, Vanessa sells items from her own collection, which ranges from household goods to jewelry, with a specialty focus on anime merchandise and children’s toys.
The St. Mary’s County location is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginning Jan. 15, the market will expand its hours to operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Saturday hours remaining from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
STACIES 516 Yard Sale Market invites the community to buy, sell, browse or connect, offering a welcoming indoor space that blends affordability, local entrepreneurship and community engagement.
