
SUITLAND, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a man in connection with a double fatal shooting on Friday night. The suspect is 31-year-old Marc Carter of Temple Hills. He is charged with the murder of 32-year-old Antonio Magruder of District Heights and 56-year-old Darrell Mason of Suitland.
On March 28, 2025, at approximately 10:30 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road. Officers located Magruder inside of a business suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Mason was located inside of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital. A third man was also shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed Carter was known to one of the victims.
Carter is charged with two counts of first and second degree murder and several additional charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
